Behind the Novel: Author's Insight

The Circle is book one of the Sidhe series. Many future events are subtly set in motion in this novel. Readers will resolve some of the mysteries surrounding Emerald Lake in The Circle. However, there are a few seemingly inconsequential events shared in the first book that are very important to the entire series.  Don't worry, there are lots of hints sprinkled throughout the novel. It will be interesting to hear reader speculation about why "such and such" is in the story, or how "this or that" will turn out.  The entire series of books tells ONE story that spans several years, but if I wrote this as one book, it would be ridiculously long! The characters will grow and mature as the story goes along, growing stronger and smarter to handle what lies ahead.

The inspiration for The Circle came to me while I was in a "time out," for what I don't remember :)  I imagined what I might find if I were able to lift one of the tiles in the floor.  I envisioned a wise old man hunched over an ancient writing desk. The man was scribbling madly on yellowed parchment paper.  This man became Uilleam.

A bit of trivia - Fairy Stone Park is an actual state park in Virginia.  It is known for the fairy stones found near the edge of the lake.
