Hello Bisi Leyton. Welcome to The Indie Author How-to. It's a pleasure to have you today. Please tell me about yourself and writing.
What's your next project?
I’m currently writing a Short Story called Criteria that takes place between Myopia (Wisteria Series Book 1) and Aporia (Wisteria Book 3). The 10,000 words story tries to look the lives of another group of teens who kidnap Wisteria and her human friends in attempt to force them to help.
I have two historical romances set in the 1950s that have almost finished the editing process. I’m hoping to have these out in January 2013 too.
Now, let's spice things up a bit. Here are some totally off the wall questions but I think you'll enjoy answering them. Ready? Here we go....
If you could have been told one thing that you weren't told when you were a teenager, what would you like to have heard?
Boys really are very, very strange
Just like "Everybody Wang Chung tonight!", what action would your name be if it were a verb?
Bisi would the new word for brainwashing. He was so bisied by his new girlfriend.
Are you a morning or night person?
I am a night person. I love writing until really late, but I know I’m most productive in the mornings.
Would you eat vegetables on a veggie table?
I’d rather starve. Wait, chocolate comes from cocoa beans and that’s a vegetable, so the answer’s yes.
If you were to create a slogan for your life, what would it be?
Only a sociopath thinks she’s a good person. A truly good person only seeks to get better.
I so feel you on that sentiment. Shall we continue?
Do you do dance crazy when no one is looking?
Yes and also when there are people around.
What's your favorite bumper sticker?
The truth is the truth even if you don’t believe it.

You were just given a yacht. What would you name it?
The whistling rabbit. In the UK, whistling and rabbits are seen as unlucky things to have on boats. As a lot of my friends who sail are superstitious, this would be a great way to mess with them.

You've just been hired to a promotions position at Kellogg Co. What would you put in a new breakfast cereal box as a gimmick?

If you were attending a Halloween party, what would your costume be and why?
The most horrible thing I can think of—a zombie gospel singer.

What item, that you don't have already, would you most like to own?
My own house.

If you were the Miss World, what would your message for aspiring models be?

Yes and also when there are people around.
What would you do if you didn't have to work?
I’d be a full time writer. For part of the year, I’d travel around the world as I wrote and the rest of the year I’d do charity work with orphans in my neighbourhood.

The truth is the truth even if you don’t believe it.
My aunt in Tanzania always says...
If you can’t marry for love, marry for money.

More about the book:
Sixteen year old Wisteria Kuti has two
options—track the infected around the Isle of Smythe or leave the only known
safe haven and face a world infested with flesh eating biters. But even with
well-armed trackers, things go wrong and Wisteria ends up alone facing certain
death, until she is rescued by the mysterious Bach. Uninfected, Bach is able to
survive among the hordes of living dead.
Eighteen year old Bach, from a race known as The
Family, has no interest in human affairs. He was sent here to complete his
Great Walk and return home as a man—as a Sen Son. The Family regard humans as
Dirt People, but Bach is drawn to this Terran girl, whom he has never seen
before, but somehow knows.
Hunted by flesh eaters, cannibals, and the mysterious
blood thirsty group called Red Phoenix, Wisteria and Bach make their way back
to the Isle of Smythe, a community built on secrets and lies.
Praise for Wisteria:
“I love the buildup of this story, getting to know
the characters and watching their connection grow. I had no idea which way the
story was headed and I was kept in suspense right up to the very end! It has
plenty of action and a fascinating plot and I can’t wait to see what Bisi
Leyton has for us next!!”
“There are a lot of great things in this book, so
much more than zombies and a struggle for survival. At it’s base core it is
about star-crossed lovers, literally and the supporting characters roles… Ms.
Leyton brings to Wisteria a mixture of science fiction, fantasy, dystopic world
with a twist to the paranormal romance angle!”
“The book was full of nonstop action from the
beginning until the end, and I did not put it down until I had finished it. I
loved the book.”
